Intro:
What is fundamental ?
It is the core principles that underpins a thing or how it works.
For example: money is a liquid asset used to facilitate transactions of value. It is used as a medium of exchange between individuals and entities. It's also a store of value and a unit of account that can measure the value of other goods (Investopedia).
What is wrong if someone starts using money to smoke?
Fundamentals are the core principles that underpins how things work.
The bible is based on fundamental laws that you must not violate - doing so is very dangerous.
what is righteousness ?
It is the state of being right with God; justification; the work of Christ, which is the ground of justification (Easton's Bible Dictionary).
Dikaiosune (Greek)- equity, justification.
Tsedaqah (Hebrew)- rightness.
Righteousness occurrences: 442 times in the bible.
Fundamental of Righteousness
Righteousness needs a law to be enforced - Everything God created was right from the beginning (Gen 1:31) and the law was given to Adam to keep him right (Genesis 2:16-17). - Adam sinned because there was a law in place (Genesis 2:16-17; Gen 3:7-10). - Where there is no law, sin cannot be inputted (Romans 5:13)
The law strengthened sin and showed we needed a saviour - The law strengthened sin (1 Corinthians 15:55-56) - Show our transgression and reinforce it (Galatians 3:19; Romans 5:20). - To guide us, but not to perfect us (Galatians 3:23-25).
The law was good, it had blessings and curses, but it was impossible to keep the law, so they fell under sins and needed to make atonement each year for the sin. Intermediate summary: righteousness in the old covenant was based on the law, the law caused sin problems and sin problems continue to separate them from God.
Christ fulfilled the requirement of the law (Romans 10:4). - Because nobody could keep it
Through Christ acceptance of sin, and death we become the righteousness of God (1 Corinthians 5: 21).
The key fundamental of righteousness is based on faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 10:5-10; 1 Corinthians 1:30).
What does faith based righteousness mean to you?
You don’t feel right with God, you believe in God’s righteousness in Chist Jesus
No one should bring a charge or condemnation against you.
You are in position and alignment to be blessed by God
Conclusion:
your righteousness is in Christ Jesus, continue to take the position of God’s righteousness.
